Yoon

Yoon is a junior in high school. She began her journey with FemSTEM in 2023 and has consistently held a strong passion in STEM. 

Coming from a STEM-centered family, Yoon was always exposed to STEM. Having always admired the field, she began to submerge herself into its continuously developing world. However, she noticed the lack of female representation in STEM, as most of the girls in her life seemed to lean towards liberal arts, often rejecting the field as a possible career route. Yoon believes that she would’ve also gone down the same path if it weren’t for her early STEM exposure. For this very reason, she wants to make an impact through FemSTEM by providing more opportunities for girls to be familiarized with STEM.

So far in her high school career, she has taken Biology and Chemistry and plans to study AP Physics. She has also established a stable foundation for math through the completion of the AP Calculus AB Independent Study program in her Sophomore year. She has also seized a spot as one of the officers for her school's VEX Robotics Club.

Yoon has had prior experience in educating children and has grown a natural liking for teaching. She hopes to connect with as many bright, young individuals and lead them to the world of STEM.
